Therefore the introduction of superior products at competitive prices is anti-competitive because it weakens the competition and is itself a violation of Anti-Trust Laws. I think this will fly in Europe but hopefully not here.

I will take the bait and try to make a hypothetical case.

Suppose a hospital has a patent on a particular machine and wouldn't sell that machine to other hospitals.

Intel's monopoly is a function of having both process and design. In the over all picture Intel designs dominate ` 90% ms. Also, similarly, their process, particular to uprocessor manufacturing, is the same 90% ms. Add to that MicroSoft's domination and a theme starts to emerge.

If Intel were two unrelated companies, a foundry and design the picture might be easier to comprehend.

Atel fab: 90% ms
Btel design 90% ms
MS OSco 90% ms

You could have added Dell and its previous !00% loyalty to the above, but the real shocker would be the 100% monogamous relationship between Atel and Btel. But since they ARE one entity the reality is obscured.

It was Intel that referred to Linux as ~ an obscure software...

And these three companies in concert nulify support of any other companies outside their exclusive cartel, a pretty cozy group.

Maybe it is like a benevolent dictator to those in its favor.
