Jeffrey--Were you suprised at BMRA's flat quarter? It had seemed to me that Lancer's manufacturing problems were being solved (most of LANZ earnings were in their 4th quarter, and from what I can tell this increase was due to improved gross margins---from an average of 37.5% for the first 3 quarters to 45% in the 4th quarter). I was looking forward to BMRA's 1st quarter, however I was disappointed that LANZ's gross margin fell back to 38.5% , resulting in flat earnings. In other words, if LANZ gross margins had held at 45% they would have contributed 4 to 5 cents to earnings rather than almost nothing.

I'm afraid that as long as LANZ continues to dominate BMRA (68.5% of FY1997 revenues) we will see more of the same. I continue to hold my shares, however.
