Japan Stimulus May Include Solar Incentives, Morgan Stanley Says

March 31 (Bloomberg) -- Japan may focus on incentives for energy efficiency and renewable energy in an economic stimulus plan, according to Morgan Stanley.

The “solar industry may consume a majority of renewable energy incentives, with an objective of reviving the industry to the globally dominant position it used to enjoy in the late 1990s,” Morgan Stanley analysts led by Sunil Gupta wrote.

International solar companies could benefit from the plan because of Japan’s “limited domestic wafer and polysilicon capacity,” the analysts wrote.
