Well, if we go back to the stone age you'd use a rock. But if you are fair, I'm sure you can realize that being across the room, or even several feet from your victim is much more aesthetic than having to chop their head off, or do something else much more physical. We prefer to kill animals from remove, and most humans are the same about people. Are you indeed trying to argue it isn't a whole bunch easier to shoot someone? Because if you aren't arguing that, I don't understand the point of your posts. Please lay out your position.
