Hello Bill,
Nice thread you have here.

We have only crossed paths before I think on your Politics for Pros thread which ended cordially, then I think I was Kastel :O)

I'd like like to cast out and see if any out there have osteoporosis and or calcium oxalate kidney stones.. I have both.. Stones diagnosed @ 19, I am 52 and pretty active... the treatment and dietary concerns have radically changed since I was diagnosed.

I have both. osteo and the stones.. I ski hard (the doctors shudder). I take 3K ius of vitamin D, 1200g of calcium for that.. I take other vitamins but those numbers are for the osteo. I used to take Fosamax but am due for a dental implant and decided to stop. also the last few visits the dentist noticed increased 'mobility' in my teeth. Fosamax has been associated with osteonecrosis of the jaw.. Maybe nothing but.. OTOH while on fosamax my bone density was increasing about 12% annually. Originally a few years back they said I had the bones of an 80 year old woman..

At any rate guys should be aware that reporting osteo is much understated in men .. which is a shame. Also the kidney stones (calacium oxalate) are also related to diabetes, hypertension and a host of other stuff..

Anyway I have learned .. be informed..
My vitamin / mineral intake levels are always under scrutiny and subject to change..
