I just heard a report on Fox news, I've yet to see it in print, that at least one bank was forced to take TARP money or risk receiving an expensive audit... the bank has nothing to hide, but the audit would have been enormously expensive... so, they decided to take the money... they now want to give it back with interest, but the Treasury tells them they cannot return the money... this tells me the Treasury wants to have their hooks everywhere and control the banks even when a bank is in sound fiscal shape anyhow...
