FEEBLE?

Mark, you can't be serious! Why, the top headlline in the NYTimes positively shouts: "Obama Calls on Security Council to Punish North Korea"!
Our leader was forceful, filled with vigor and purpose: "This provocation underscores the need for action — not just this afternoon at the U.N. Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons. . . . Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished. Words must mean something." In addition, he boldly proclaimed: "Now is the time for a strong international response, and North Korea must know that the path to security and respect will never come through threats and illegal weapons."
So what is the "something" that the "words" of international law and the Security Council must mean? Well, if you look right here at . . . um, hold on just a sec . . . eh, 1, 2, 3, . . . yeah, ok, here is is — if you just read right here in the 13th paragraph of the Times story, you find, very clearly, boldly and forcefully, "But it remained unclear exactly what the West will be able to do by way of the talked about punishment. President Bush [ed.- unilateralist cowboy who decided six-party talks were the way to go] pressed for similar sanctions after the North’s nuclear test in October 2006, but those sanctions had little long-term effect."
YES WE CAN!
