Marcos,
Yachts? Who wants a hole in the ocean you shovel money into? As for the Lundins, they "cut a wide swath":-). The late Adolf, and now his son, Lukas, really like to leverage their positions, however, Lundin can raise big money, even in these markets, and that is one major factor that makes a difference to me.
Yes, I did see your comment. Antony is one of those Calgary "corporate soldiers" that get involved in companies that either go to to 2 cents or to Tucson. It looks like STP is rebuilding, but down the road, if and when a foreign project with lots of upside comes along on the right terms, I wouldn't be surprised if STP is there. If you get in early at low cost and are patient, worst case, you should at least be able to get out with your capital if you want to ride the rest at no cost.
These days, there is no shortage of cheap "horses" to ride. If you are patient, either pick some that "corporate soldiers" with a track record still have a big position in, or watch for ones they acquire a big position in. One of the problems nowadays is there are less headaches and the cost is just as cheap to start a new company instead of acquiring a control block in a shell company and then deal with all the "skeletons". |
