All competitive nations today are all places where women play a traditional role.

The competitiveness of the OECD countries was severely undermined by the presence of women in the work force.

You talk about a history perspective. few exceptions prompted by Anglos' gunboating, people seeking lebensraum and spheres of influences when territory mattered and trade did not.

And those few exceptions are getting rare and rarer by the day as all nations beocme trading nations as a result of globalization.

Those exceptions are now relegated to the fringes of civilization ans today any young man wants is one of those phones you keep talking about to call the girls to go out with them.
