Obama has, of course, added to the deficits he "inherited" from Bush and he intends to add more. We'll see. He is promising cuts in programs that don't work. But facing a depression is not the time to cut government spending. He also promised to reduce the Bush tax cuts, but now is probably not the time for that either. Smart policy.
