Several years later he died of lung cancer. And the joke is that except for this insane view, he was a great guy. Looking back i dont get it.

Sam Kinison, in the 80s, made great fun of AIDs victims. And he was taken to task for it at the time, but continued to do it. Finally, when people he knew started dying of AIDs, he realized he had been wrong and he tried to undo it. No way. For the rest of his life he lived with something of a stigma for those early years when he didn't understand it.

For those of us who grew up before AIDs the early days of it were shocking because it involved major lifestyle changes. My best friend who was something of a ladies man and a world traveler, had women in every city -- a behavior he had practiced for a number of years. He stopped -- overnight. "That's enough of that".
