I really disagree with that. Russia is dirt cheap right now.
The rapid economic growth has been happening outside commodities,
but higher oil and other commodity prices sure helped.

Russia simply had no economy in the early 1990-s, you can't get
any worse than that. The Great Depression in the US was
peanuts compared to the economic crisis that hit Russia then. -g-
