My sentence was poorly written.

" an attempt to deny straights what they (homosexuals) can't have as gays..."

Gays express a great deal of resentment toward the straight community. I don't see where gays gain anything by Marriage which they can't have through civil union or simple contracting. Gays complain that they want to be considered the same as straights are in society at large. The presentation I gave is in general a summary description of why straight marriage should be honored. Gays and lefty gay movement supporters object everytime I suggest heterosexual relationships should be honored. That is telling in itself. Of course there are exceptions and every family circumstance is unique in some fashion. However, Gay subculture community develops quite differently.

I am arguing that gays resent straights and the marriage issue is more about an attempt to deny straights a distinct identity than to be included in anything. They say they don't like being stigmatized as different. The fact is, homosexuals can never have what straights have and be gay at the same time. There is a fundamental difference that impacts goals, values, and a sense of community. They are not the same, and the rights and freedoms movement issue is completely bogus, no rights or freedoms are being denied.
