What optimism are you talking about today?

To my comment;

By virtually any measurement, people are more optimistic now as to the direction our country is going.

Have you not paid any attention to the polls? This can't be disputed unless you just pretend people are not telling the truth when they respond to polls. But in any case we were discussing when the country experienced PANIC.

As to why people are not optimistic; job loss, market decline, higher deficits. The market decline started last year during the panic. The job losses started over a year ago and accelerated during the panic of last year. The deficits that Bush promised would NOT happen when he passed the tax reduction started and kept climbing despite some of the wildest rides by speculative gamblers. These results are the BUSH LEGACY. Live with it and move on. Move on and propose something meaningful instead of this weird effort to change recent history.

I am a long time supporter of the republican party (and passionately supportive of Ron Paul), but this party is broken. They are sick and getting sicker. Instead of proposing something meaningful to get us out of the Bush mess, they are parading around Palin.
