Better Health Plan Contracts to Use Ocg's Patient Management System
NEW YORK, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- OCG Technology Inc announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, PrimeCare Systems, Inc. ("PSI") has signed an agreement with Better Health Plan headquartered in Amherst, New York ("BHP") under which PSI will provide its PrimeCare(TM) Patient Management System software to BHP on a fee per use basis for use with BHP's patient base throughout New York State. BHP is a managed care health plan company ("HMO") which currently contracts with the State of New York to provide total health care services to Medicaid recipients.
Edward Levine, President of OCG joined Daniel Rockmore, President of PSI stating "Having contracted for our PrimeCare Patient Management System to be used by an HMO constitutes a milestone in our marketing plan because it serves as our entry into this large and rapidly growing segment of the health care industry. BHP has been awarded contracts from the State of New York to provide medical services to Medicaid patients throughout the State. We are pleased that BHP has chosen our PrimeCare Patient Management System (the "PrimeCare System") software to create medical records for this large patient population."
PSI's PrimeCare System enables physicians to improve the quality of patient care while reducing health care costs. The approach is centered on a patient-computer interactive system which records the patient's history via responses to simple "yes" or "no" on-screen queries. Through its use, the PrimeCare System provides the physician with the possible diagnoses of the patient's complaint and with expert physician medical reference material which may be viewed on-screen or printed at the touch of a button. In addition, the PrimeCare System provides patients with printed educational materials concerning their disease and its management and prescribed medications, cross- checks for drug interactions, and prints out legible prescriptions to reduce pharmacy errors. The PrimeCare System also automates the production of a complete patient record, replacing hand written or dictated records. The medical content of the PrimeCare System is maintained and updated by the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
OCGT also manufactures and markets the Cardiointegraph, a patented device for the early detection of coronary heart disease in patients who have a normal resting electrocardiogram. In addition, it markets medical billing software to physicians and other healthcare providers. SOURCE OCG Technology, Inc. |
