I think this is a mischaracterization of recent history. The financial types were hardly ever treated like gods. They were all over the place just like Cramer was. Upgrades here, downgrades there, usually after the big news hits, which of course is too late for average investors. Meanwhile the mainstream media was selling the notion that the economy sucked except for Wall Street. I think you too were pushing that meme very fervently. If anything, the media had just as much of a reason to roast the financial analysts back then as they do now. By the way, I hardly watch Jon Stewart. Tenchusatsu
