4/9/09 update
The Wells Fargo stagecoach took investors for a fun ride today, with lots of matzah and chocolate bunnies to keep passengers smiling. When the ride was over, the Nasdaq Composite Index had finished the 4-day trading week up 5.15% CYTD, or "Contest Year To Date," (vs. up 3.20% CYTD at last Friday's close). Biotechs were also along for the ride, with the Nasdaq Biotech Index cutting its loss to down -4.77% CYTD (vs. down -5.97% CYTD at last Friday's close). The Contest median did even better, cutting its loss to down -4.00% CYTD (vs. down -7.29% CYTD at last Friday's close).
GENE's portfolio managed to hold on to first place by the thickness of a matzah, with PRAVN & RKRW still No. 2 & No. 3. The CYTD percentages were: GENE up 29.79%, PRAVN up 29.70% and RKRW up 22.16%.
At Thursday's close, 14 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 16 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
Enjoy the 3-day weekend folks!
