BillyG and PatientEngineer. In my experience with international capital equipment sales (wire bonders), payment is normally made in installments. A percentage at the placement of the order, a percentage upon shipment of the product on time and the rest so many days after the succesful acceptance of the product at customers facility. The full amount of the order may be secured by a letter of credit in certain instances (it depends of the relationship between the vendor and the customer as well as other factors), but final payment at least from Europe (and Morocco which is controlled from France/Italy) is delayed between 60 - 90 days. This has been my experience, anyways.
