What I was just informed about was the role which Singepore will play in the Southeast Asia "crisis". The "overcapacity" crowd has not figured into their equation the astounding success that Singepore has experienced over the past year and continues to experience. For starters Singepore (a) has a higher market capitalization per capita than the US Market (b) yields higher productivity gains than the US market (c) is experiencing a boom in purchasing power and is revamping its systems technologies (d) people have a higher per capita income that people in the US (e) "island nation" which is wealthier per capita than Hong Kong, Shenghai, New York, London, Paris, etc. (f) is buying up "spare parts" like yesterday.
Singepore is booming and soaking up much capacity being created in Asia. You'll see more about this in the months to come. The reactions in Asia are a direct result of New York fears more than Asian fears.
Note that Singepore's Index is up while other Indices at this time are trading down. You'll see more of this. Why? Because they are BOOMING. Why? Because they are rich, low crime rate, income is spread more evenly among the masses from top to the bottom, the people are technologically innovative and are moving into the third world situations over there creating opportunities for themselves and their people.
Maybe we should all stop concentrating on the small fish like Thailand and Malaysia and begin to concentrate on what the BIG FISH is doing. The bears are great at getting the BIG FISH sidetracked into thinking about the supper they lost last night instead of concentrating on the 5,000 non-stop meals they've had previously and the 5000 meals they can continue to afford in the future.
Think about it. If Ficklestein was incorrect in his assumptions regarding Cymer - calling it a DUV bulb company of all things - what makes you think his other assumptions were correct? You read his assumptions with interest because you don't know the subject well. Since you know the subject of Cymer well, you know he was dead wrong. Yet, you all consider is "other comments" worth reading. What happens if Dell reports sales which are doing fine? What will we all think then?
Maybe we should all buy Republic Industries, the Marlins just won the world series for Wayne Huzeinga. |
