I'd say there is a lot of hate in both the black community and the Hispanic community for gay people- but then if you listened to gay men and women of color discussing the problems in their communities, you would have known that already. Just because the black community is black, doesn't mean they won't have prejudices. Some members of the black community don't like Asians, whites or Hispanics either. But just because they are black doesn't make it right.

I don't think I diminish the word hate when I use it to apply to people who would deny others basic human relationships because of whom they choose to love. I think hate is a fine word for that. And I'm not at all fond of any intolerant religions- not here, and to abroad. But since other countries do NOT have secular states, I will just pity them from afar, and be glad I live here.

I don't like prejudice any better when it's Islamic than I like it when it is Christian, or Hindu- or whatever.
