Ted, > You are upset about that comment only because you see the US through rose tinted glasses.

Well duh, don't you think that Canadian is looking at America through goggles that have a heavy nationalist tint?

Have you been to Canadian cities? I have been in all the major ones. They are signficantly safer and more liveable than American cities. Significantly! In fact, one of the most famous names in urban planning, an American named Jane Jacobs, who wrote the defining book on American cities: The Life and Death of Great American Cities" ended up moving to Toronto to live out her years.

You refuse to see the negatives in this country even when they stare you in the face. Hence, my accusation regarding the kind of glasses you wear.

Vancouver is a great city, but the citizens there are showing signs of arrogance and a sense of taking what they have for granted. Every first-world society goes through that. It's the normal transition to post-modernism.

This is an excellent example of your bias.......until recently, its been a fact that Vancouver was a safer, more liveable city than any city in the US. That's not arrogance.....that's reality.......a reality that the right refuses to acknowledge.
