The job creation was a result of especially generous lending practices. It couldn't continue and it didn't.

The mortgage lending biz is and always has been cyclical. So is construction. Those in it, know it. I get a kick reading about my industries from all you know- it- alls on here who have never been closer to a banker than a teller window or haven't a clue to what shop drawings are. Stop trying to make job losses, job creation, recessions and booms political, it really makes no difference what party is in office. There have been at least three of these cycles over the past 30 years and all have been survived.

What's going to make a difference though is Obama's budget. Its going to kill the nascent recovery in the cradle. I give it two years until a Carter like stagflation unless its somehow reversed.

but most of America thinks it sucks

Most of America is ignorant of the banking industry or too stupid to learn. They want their new house and when the banks say no they go crying to bawney frank and acorn. Its discrimination wah wah wah. So when they get it and can't afford it, then default, its the crooked bankers fault and their too generous lending practices.
