Spansion filing about the settlement with Samsung: investor.spansion.com

I find this quote very disturbing:
the Company has granted Samsung a non-exclusive, worldwide, fully paid-up, royalty free, perpetual and irrevocable license to Spansion’s existing and future patents (the “ Licensed Patents ”), which such license is nontransferable and without the right to sublicense except to subsidiaries of Samsung

That means that the biggest memory producer in the world got all Spansions IP (inluding mirrorbit) royalty free for a one time payment of $70m!

How is Spansion going to get a profitable IP licensing business with such terms?

IIRC, this is less than what Spansion payed to Saifun yearly.
