But our society if much more flexible than theirs, IMO. I dunno really Hawk .. That's the popular wisdom.. however.. when they want to pass a new law.. they don't need to earmark anything with a bunch of pork barreling.. a la democracy.. Example... Do you think anything like the Three Gorges Power project would ever be approved in the US or Canada.. Canada had a hell of a time getting La Baie James project done .. and that's pretty sparsely populated and was many years ago now... of course the stimulus and encouragement to consumerism in China (incentives), is largely about keeping folks happy.. They do like their good life I found out much more so on my second trip.. TBS EDIT: This is one of those 'time will tell' scenarios..
