Three of the least respected, least admired figures in contemporary American politics are Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney, and Karl Rove. You're confusing "contemporary American politics" with "liberals". These figures are all disrespected by the Left. As one who is politically center-right, I have great respect for all three for them, particularly Cheney, but also Limbaugh and Rove. Just depends on your POV. My best friend who I respect as very smart individual, hates Rove. But he has yet to articulate why.
