Many people rant and say things on the internet, and to people whom they know, that are quite as out there as Mr. Wright's statements. Some of the more bizarre rants of the right are the equal to Mr. Wright's rants, and the do not come with the excuse of having experienced being a truly second class citizen- they come only with the imaginative belief that white America is somehow under attack because it can't be allowed to dominate America entirely, and it also seems to have the belief that not being able to force Christian cant on everyone via the state, is somehow "discrimination" against Christians- to name but two of the odd rants of the right- there are many many more. We've seen several of them on this thread from time to time. How can the imaginatively oppressed be expected to understand those who have truly experienced oppression? They do not seem to be compatible.
