>WIND's Human Capital Needs
Without any doubt, finding competent employees consumes lots of management time and concern at WIND. I suspect that a major objective of the new, waterfront campus in Alameda is as an attraction to employees - without being extravagant. (WIND has represented that the new campus will be cheaper than continued leasing.)
Nevertheless WIND has advantages which allieviate many potential problems recruiting new employees. First, WIND's success breeds success in finding and attracting quality people, partly because of the obvious value of stock options, but even more because of the opportunities for career growth, job security and personal satisfaction found when working for a leader in a rapidly emerging market. Second, WIND scatters development around the world, with skunkworks in France, Ireland and Britain, and now probably Israel. Remember, most of the original development work on Tornado occurred in France, not California. Third, WIND can always acquire companies to obtain proven technical talent. Indeed, this is precisely how WIND obtained a significant foothold in Israel. Last year they acquired RST in Israel, and they can now build on that capability.
