According to their website www.iionline.com. the magic 25 is up 40.6% since 11/18/96 vs 21.6% DJIA; 31.6% NASDAQ; 27.7% S&P 500. Regarding the 1998 picks they do readmit some from the 1997 magic 25 and they also pick some stocks that they feature previously during the year in their magazine. They also have a new policy that excludes stocks which are contained in their Wisdomtree holdings. Regarding one of the magic 25 picks for 1998 that has not been covered by them for a while is VARL. I have a feeling that VARL is a shoe in. VARL was a 1996 entrant in the magic 25 and is doing extremely well fundamentally and the stock price has not gone up anywhere near its growth rate. They also seem to have an excellent rapport with the company. I also believe Indiviual Investor itself INDI is awfully undervalued at this juncture given the excellent results from their money management division and they hired an investment banker to explore strategic alternatives for their publishing division.
