And to call almost half the country "crazy"? Not hardly. Just the official organization of the party. Right now there political aptitude is certainly not sterling. And Krugman's basic point is that the current plight of the party endangers the two party system. Republicans are rightly concerned about our debt levels, and just because they are, he labels them as "crazy"? Not hardly. Where were those folk when Bush was ratcheting up the debt levels. They simply have no credibility on those points right now. As I recall, your guy, Ron Paul, does. But the party leadership doesn't.
