We got into this mess because we spent money foolishly on a war that we did not need to get into. We lowered our revenue stream by letting people at the very top of the income ladder to go on an unprecedented (in human history) spending spree on conspicuous and mindless consumption of luxury living. We turned a blind eye to greed and unlawful means of turning a fast buck. Borrowing money to get our banking system working again and investing in America and the American people is different.
