Enterprise Production Management(TM) Software Now Offers Tandem Safeguard
Security Interface, Plus New Output Analysis and User Notification Functions

(Nasdaq: DDDDF) today announced a new version of its CONTROL-M enterprise
production control and scheduling software, designed to support the Tandem
Guardian, also known as Tandem Non-Stop Kernel, operating system and featuring
a series of enhancements.
Tandem Guardian is the operating system used on Tandem's flagship Himalaya
computer series. Tandem Computers Inc., Cupertino, Calif., a wholly owned
subsidiary of Compaq Computers Corp. of Houston, Tex., is the world's leading
supplier of continuously running, highly fault-tolerant computer systems for
business-critical applications.
The new version of CONTROL-M includes three main enhancements, starting
with an interface for Tandem's Safeguard security administration product. New
Dimension Software's CONTROL-M works with Safeguard to provide secured,
hierarchic access management to create a fully protected job control
environment tailored to the security administrator's requirements.
Working together, New Dimension Software and Tandem have added the Sysout
analysis and management by exception enhancements to enable full output
analysis, and immediate user notification in case of an identified problem.
CONTROL-M can analyze the results of a command or OBEY file, react by
appropriately altering the scheduling flow, and issue an alert to the
administrator and any other designated users.
CONTROL-M Supports All Operating Systems Currently Offered By Tandem
Designed for complex distributed systems, CONTROL-M allows operations
personnel to seamlessly integrate any number of disparate platforms into the
production environment including MVS, VAX, AS/400, OS/2200, Windows NT and
OS/2 and several versions of UNIX (AIX,SunOS, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, Pyramid and

platform into one consolidated production schedule, providing a single

The new version of CONTROL-M for Tandem Guardian indicates New Dimension

the Tandem product line from ENlighten Software Solutions of San Mateo, Calif.
