All three news only items are positive. I'll post the links so
people don't have to switch threads. Here 5000 ports, there
growth in F/R, everywhere new strategic alliances. ASND is getting
ready to kick butt (Tim's?)

I particularly like this part - everyone's (AGIS, UUNET too)
crowing about TNT's port density reducing the price per port:

"NaviSite's strategy of partnering with CLECs and Ascend to deliver dial-up
services to ISPs is a winner all the way around," says Bob Machlin, vice
president of marketing at Ascend. "Not only is NaviSite's partnership
strategy innovative, but their technical implementation is equally
ground-breaking. Navisite is combining state-of-the-art switch bypass technology with
the MAX TNT's in a way that hasn't been done before. "We're
very excited to be part of their vision."
"Ascend is an extremely important component of our new NaviNet and CLEC Data
Services Program," says Jim Winkelman, Chief Technology Officer for NaviSite.
"The MAX TNT gives us the port density and price per port we need to offer a
low-cost service that delivers premium reliability. That's a great
proposition for us."
