I got back from our local Tax Tea Party Protest a bit ago....Lots of people, and more than I thought there would be....

It was at City Hall, and a better behaved group you've never seen...I'm sure there were both parties represented, and Independents as well! I figured it was over 500 people, but the police told the organizer that there were just a bit over 1000!!!

Not bad for an event that was from 12-1pm on a work day...! Lots of funny signs, some police there just in case there was any one rowdy...None that anyone could see. Lots of families there with children.

Our group gave 95 free pocket booklets of the US Constitution, which also includes the Declaration of Independence. We buy them from Cato in bulk and sell them for a few cents more for a mini-fundraiser usually....but today, we felt that it was well worth it to give them FREE with the priviso that those who took them must promise us to actually read them, and if possible to read to their children and/or grandchildren and their friends....The books were in all cases well received.

The US Constitution is NOT POLITICAL, and I was able to remind folks of that from the platform via the mic....The gloomy morning turned sunny in the beginning of the rally....Perfect rest of the day....! Hopefully, this will be the start of something big...
