Clinton is the only "example" you can point to

Carter was more fiscally conservative than Nixon and Ford before him and Ronald Reagan after him. And Clinton was more fiscally conservative than Ronald Reagan or George Bush.

The two biggest supply siders, Reagan and Bush have each presided over a doubling of our national debt. No post WWII Democrat has ever behaved so fiscally irresponsibly.

We're watching the size of government in absolute terms and as a percentage of the GDP grow by leaps and bounds under Obama. And Obama is the hero of those who are desperate to debunk "supply-side rhetoric."

With the economy shrinking as fast as it is/has been, the proper Keynesian response is massive deficit spending by the federal government. Obama is doing the fiscally correct thing for the situation we're in.

Anyone can lose money in a downturn, Reagan and Bush were special for losing money hand over fist during economic expansion.

I expect fiscal responsibility from Obama. In my book that means massive deficit spending in a major contraction but not during expansion. If he turns out to be a Reagan or a Bush, i will gladly criticize him for it. (I'm sure he's shaking in his boots at that prospect...) But that test is yet to come.
