Socialism reduces the drive to be productive. Capitalism reduces the drive to be cooperative. There should be a healthy balance with 80 percent of our motivation directed at productivity and 20 percent directed at cooperation. With an imbalance you end up with too much corporate greed and selfishness which can cause economic collapse or long lines of unproductive starving people, waiting for rations that may or may not ever come.
