You've got something here Richard. They say you should have long term ( 10 to 20 yrs) outlook for mutual fund investments, why not for gold. The Swiss sale is funny. If the sale is 40% of annual production, and it is sold over 10 years, then it is only 4% of annual production. Every year production falls short of supply by about 30%, so that would still leave a shortfall of 26%.
