All the major train routes that are regional in this country .....like the Sounder in the PNW and the LA/San Diego route are seeing significant increases in ridership. When I first started taking the train from LA to SD, there were 3 trains per day and you could run a bowling ball down the aisle and not hit anyone. When I left LA a few years later, there were eleven trains per day and they were usually full. Now I understand there are over 22 trains per day. We are seeing similar growth in train ridership in the PNW.
