Hmmmm....I don't know.....

M.N....
I don't know about all of this. We have a few bears around here, but they leave you alone if you don't bug them or get between the older ones and their cubs. I spend hours outside... usually I canoe in very secluded backwaters, creeks and swamps for 3 or 4 hours each day... for about 6 months of the year. In winter, I snowshoe through dense bush on my farm, or ski or snowshoe into very secluded Crown Lands on a regular basis. I've done this for many years and this is where I find the greatest peace. I don't think I have a very romanticized view of nature... However, I have the greatest respect for it... For instance, you don't run whitewater without your life jacket, or go into dense bush without bug repellant during blackfly and mosquitoe season, or go on a snowshoeing trek when a blizzard is imminent... A little "animal instinct" tells us that we should lie low... Like the moose that goes out and stands in the river at night with only his nostrils and eyes out of the water...to avoid the biting insects... Or the birds and other animals that curl up under some dense brush or branches as the snowstorm starts... All must respect nature... but fear it... No... we are part of it...even though many of us have lost that connection.

Just another opinion...
