USSR is not a good example as it was a dictatorship. We are a democracy. Everyone keeps forgetting,we are the government. Ike built the interstate highway system. Government. Government converted auto factories to tank and aircraft facories in less than a year and won an amazing war in 1945. They produced 10's of thousands of tanks and airplanes fast. Ships galore. Government. That was government that orgainized and won that WWII, not private industry. Israel disassembled entire munition factories after WWII in the US, smuggled them out of the US and into Israel and reasssembled them with few losses of parts. Government. Scandanavian countries have the most civilized, happy and healthy societies in the world and they all have huge governments with universal health care and much higher education rates. Democratic socialistic governments. All good government requires is the good coordination of the members of a democratic society. Bush had no interest in seeing government succceed. I did.
