IMHO, Microstation and all their 3D enhancements is a much more powerful package than ACAD. Microstation is now sold and supported by Intergraph and Bentley Systems (Bentley wrote Microstation). Bentley's CSP program is very competitive and the corporation I'm presently working with has switched from Integraph to Bentley as their corporate Microstation supplier. ACAD is considered a "Toy" in the heavy industrial (petro-chem) business. Most 3D industrial modeling packages are written around Microstation.

Bently is also offering a complete Microstation software package that a corporation can give to their employees to take home for study and to enhance their skills, play with it, etc. A corporation can get one "at home" completely functional software package for every "seat" they have registered. This is a very competitive situation and as far as I can tell, ADSK has no similar program.

ACAD has not shown any real earnings growth and they need to have a big response to R13 just to stay even. No new products that generate significant growth have been announced since some "lady" took over as CEO. Maybe ADSK needs more of a "kick A**" management.
