The problem with Gigalabs, (what I've heard from customers) is that their GE products don't work very well. So despite the poor cost/feature aspects, I feel their future is limited at this point.

As for 3Com/Bay, the reason I mentioned BAY is that with their stock at around 30 today, I believe investors have the best opportunity to
profit from their ability to generate revenue from GE products. Nothing against 3Com who is also a great company with decent products.

As for the startups, I agree with NG's prediction regarding Prominet and Alteon. I've heard that Prominet is having talks with Lucent -- they already have an OEM deal with DEC.

And Foundry and Extreme -- who knows. These two have perhaps the best technology of the GE startups, but whether they can make it as independent companies is anyone's guess.
