WTF not an EOTech on a side rail?

I meant to ask you. What's that do for me? I thought you were shitting me, but I see JD outfitted his power shotgun that way.

After reading about problems with Hornady and Remington ammo on this board:

forum.lwrci.com

I took my M6A2 to the range this weekend. What a beauty to shoot. The magnifier was unnecessary, but man oh man, at short range you can't miss with that thing.

I had a big problem though. The people on the LWRCI board were right about the ammo problems. I am still not sure why it happened but a Hornady round coming from a CProducts mag jammed. The weapon had to be completely disassembled to remove it. The gun store guys found a casing fragment that had broken off.

Everyone on the LWRCI board, including various flavors of law enforcement officers, raved about Silver State Armory ammo. It is apparently what LWRC uses to test their weapons and recommends. Some retailers carry it, but you can order directly from the company.

I called and talked with a woman there. She said the best stuff for home defense is their 115 grain OTM, and it's what most of the snipers who order from them prefer.

Interestingly, when I looked at their web site the middle of last week I think they were out of stock. They got some in though, and the woman said if I didn't order any this week I wouldn't get any for several more weeks. I ordered 1,000 rounds.

She said that for hunting she liked their 110 grain Nosler Accu Bond which she said according to a customer not only dropped a feral pig at 100 yards, it went through that pig and dropped another.

However, I figured that if things get so bad I need to hunt my own food I'd prefer lead-free, so I ordered some of this good stuff with a tactical load.

They are coming out with a cheaper "plinking" round for practice. The woman said they have the brass in stock, but with just 22 employees they are too busy to produce it. Right now they are shooting for mid-May.

From what I read SSA is a pleasure to deal with. So far so good.

My only complaint is that my only choice for shipping was FedEx which cost me almost $50. But considering how tough ammo is to get it's not worth complaining about.
