I hardly need say that commercial real estate is not my field. But when I read that occupancy and rents are dropping, that loans are coming due that cannot be repaid, that the REITs are watering their stock to pay dividends, and the recession is deepening, I can't believe that the prices of the stocks in the IYR portfolio can do anything but drop. Except when hit with a huge short squeeze.
