honestly and sadly, the only real place I saw to hide was at Costco. not in the equity, in buying hundreds of cans of beans and sacks of rice. seems to be a better trading commodity than gold if we hit hyper inflation (which I don't think will happen).

i've been doing that for some time...building 'pantry' reserves and buying personal necessities....
this does not comport with a deflationary environment EXCEPT if one believes that assets will decline more quickly than prices of consumer goods (so far this seems to be the case)

your comment about the chinese manufacturers should alarm anyone....they're supposed to be the ones to sabe us <g>
