A certain amount of hunting is a useful tool maintaining healthy and stable wildlife populations preventing famine and disease from over population. States don't issue hunting and fishing licenses indiscriminately and hunting and fishing limits are based strictly on population audits of wildlife.

Hunters and fishermen also help fund valuable conservation programs by the government as well as fund local economies and businesses that manufacture gear and equipment and provide services.
