The big distinction here is whether or not the co.'s lose these suits. For IPIC, it will be interesting to see how the case pans out. If IPIC knew about these side-effects and hid them, that's one thing. If IPIC didn't know, but is still held to be liable, that could have huge ramifications. Imagine if every b-tech/pharma had to operate under the onus that they would be held responsible for every bad outcome, regardless of whether or not the label listed it as a possible occurance.

Let's hope that IPIC wins this (or turns out to be guilty of fraud and misrepresentation). If, however, the ruling is that IPIC DIDN'T know, but IS still liable for sideffects they didn't know about; then look out for all biotechs.
