All I'm going to say on the Church with respect to that post is to reflect your belief that Galileao was an isolated, and probably unimportant incident. I WOULD suggest going to the churches website, or getting a copy of the "Catechism of the Catholic Church" and simply looking at TODAYS policy and belief as well as changes made just during the last century with regard to salvation, other religions, meaning of sin, etc. Then if you're interested start a new thread or take it to a religion thread and I'd discuss. I DONT think it fits in here any further, we clearly disagree on this and that's OK.

<call me ignorant for not sharing your unsupported opinion>

Ignorant is simply not knowing the fact... IMHO you have clearly shown lack of historical and current context to discuss the Catholic Church. That's not meant to be perjorative, it's simply the case. Again, let's take it to a religion thread if you want.

<If there is "truth findable virtually anywhere", simply cite where. >

You can't find ANY information contrary to your opinion on religion vs science??? Well, I'm not going to show you how to use a library card or the internet.

<No, but thats not the issue being discussed right now. I'm more interested in philosophical materialism, which some think is synonomous with "evolution" and "science".>

Well, start a new thread.... I thought this one was about evolution in schools??
