Koan,

I see that you voted for the government who is sending trillions in bailout to crooks and bad managements, more troops in the midle-east, and creating larger deficits.

That is the control that the current North American democracies are giving you over our governments.

I know you disagree with many of the actions taken by the current administration. So you can't be very happy with the results of your vote. But that is not your fault. The government has been given all the powers.

The dangers of democracies have been well explained by many.

Individual freedom is the fundamental value that must underlie all social relations, economic exchanges and the political system. But with individual freedom goes individual responsibilities, something that people are gladly delegating nowadays.
