"As I keep pointing out, we live in a great a democracy. In a democracy the people have the power. If the people are too stupid to vote in the right people then what they get for government is their fault and no one elses."

Sounds like a self indictment to me. I would say people voted for at least the following:

1 Out of Mid East
2. No earmarks
3. No bailouts
4. more energy production in America
5 enforcement of immigration laws.
6 Better schools

1. So what happens. Obviously we are not out of Middle East, and I doubt we will be any time soon if ever.
2. More earmarks than ever.
3. Bailoouts forever.
4. less exploration and drilling for energy.
5 nonexistent enforcement of immigration laws.
6 Same old crap on schools with a President who claims he wants change, shutting down one of the best programs in the Country and depriving poor kids of their only chance for a good education, because he has to pay off the teacher's union.d

So tell us who these right people we are supposed to vote for to get what we want.

P.S. I neglected to mention the number of times we elected Presidents who were going to reduce taxes, spending and the deficit and we all know that happened too. The only rational appoach is to throw them all out.
