LAst week we bought five pounds of potatoes for $1.99. This week five pounds of potatoes cost us $3.99. Is that inflation or not? Every week we go to the grocery store everything costs more. Months ago the reason for the higher prices was the price of energy. Now the price of energy has dropped but the price hikes incurred because of the hike in energy costs have yet to be rolled back. We doubt they will ever be.
Obuma's goal is to get everyone earning over $300,000 a year so they will be eligible to pay income taxes. The easiest way is to just keep printing money. I can remember when my parents bought their first home for $3500. I can remember driving along and seeing billboards advertising brand new homes for $3999. A home I bought for $29,000 in 1968 sold a few years back for over $500,000. Now you say we're in for inflation? Looking back, and I would say the inflation just described is nothing to the inflation you will soon see. I expect the mail carrying the check to pay off our debt to the chinese to have a postage stamp with a high denomination than the check inside. Now that is going be inflation! Keep those presses going!
